Dave, I think you're misinterpreting.

 

You're allowed to have someone represent you in the amateur draft in
baseball and still go to college (I actually don't think the technical term
at that point is "agent" but rather "advisor").  Every player that is a
serious draft consideration does it, it's standard practice.  It's just
appointing someone to see what his best deal is and in my opinion is by no
means an indication of his intentions.

 

 I just think the odds are against him coming here because he's that 'sought
after' for baseball.  Add on that he's REALLY close with Watson and I don't
think Wats is going to be here next year (not based on anything other than
my own observations, no real insider information or scoop).

If I am reading this correctly, the Starling has already contracted with an
agent....Scott Boras, one of the biggest and the best...to represent him in
baseball contract talks.  If this is so, then clearly that is where his
primary interest lies. (rightfully so...my opinion only)  The odds of him
ever playing any sport in college are really slim.
