He has presumably interviewed for 2 head coaching positions in the last week
and one of them is a "tier 2" coaching job. I don't think he is doing it to
the detriment of his current coaching responsibilities although it has to
make recruits wonder since he built relationships with these guys.

I'm on the sidelines watching so I really don't "know" but I don't get the
feeling he is waiting around for athletic directors to speak to him first.
Although I could be wrong. Most AD's have a short list of who they have in
mind before they start the process to get a replacement. Then they call
those people - and generally hire one of them.

I'm not saying he is doing it like a desperate high schooler looking for a
date. Maybe he is on everyone's short list. If he had a better offense at
Nebraska, he certainly wouldn't have to call the athletic director first and
ask for an interview and would probably get the job so we wouldn't be having
this discussion. He's getting a lot of experience interviewing so I'm sure
he will get a head coaching job somewhere soon.

Again, I don't know and am probably speaking out of turn. I just find it
interesting he is interviewing for a number of head coaching jobs and not
getting selected. Although maybe I'm confusing head coaching jobs with the
alabama offensive coordinator thing last year or whatever. It seems like
every year his name comes up when talking about other positions. Yet he is
still at Nebraska where many fans are frustrated with his results.

Personally, I'm indifferent to what he does. I'm happy for him if he gets a
head coaching position and wish him well. I trust Pelini will hire a great
coach and Nebraska will be good on offense. I'm also ok with it if he comes
back as offensive coordinator at nebraska next year because I don't blame
him personally responsible for all the fumbles and poor decisions by a young
QB.
