No it is not a dead end job, it is often a stepping stone to bigger things. If
Michael Haywood succeeds at Pitt (IMHO a difficult job given the adminstration
there) he'll be a candidate for an even bigger job down the road. (FWIW, I
asked my son, who works in downtown Pittsburgh, what the locals thought about
the new hire at Pitt. His response: Nobody cares about Pitt football in
Pittsburgh.)

For more information, go to the Miami of Ohio website and read the information
on the coaches who have worked at the "Cradle of Coaches":

http://www.muredhawks.com/trads/mioh-cradle-of-coaches.html

Recently, though, it has seemed like the REAL 'cradle of coaches' is Youngstown
Ohio, at least if your last name is Stoops or Pelini. :-)
