[Husker] Playoff BCS

Where does something like college finals enter into an 8 game or 6 game playoff?

And how does it look on the calendar? Would you put two weeks in between each of these three rounds of games to give fans time to book trips? If not, would these 3 consecutive games be played at the end of December and into the first week of January? Or just after the season ends and before finals like the lower divisions do (meaning no college football after about Dec. 15th or so).

That's a total of 7 games, involving 8 teams. What about the other 50 teams that typically play in bowl games? Do they all have to play before this playoff starts? Or do they play at the same time? If so, do we still have an Orange Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, Rose Bowl? Or do they go away to make room for the more prestigious "playoff" games?

It's the end of the bowl system if we implement a playoff. Any playoff. If you're comfortable with that, then so be it. You REALLY need a playoff. I don't need a playoff to be perfectly content watching the entire season of college football, and I hope it never happens.

Similarly, the six teams who do not make it to the championship, could go to a BCS bowl, as they do now. The championship game could rotate among the BCS bowl sites, as it does now. And, if you eliminate conference championship games, only four teams would play as many as 15 games, one more than NU will play this season. There are logistics issues, but probably not as difficult when you play the first two rounds at home sites, as Mike mentions.
