The key point in this article is not that the numbers are bad - as you
say, taking the worst games for any coach will do that - but the stark
difference in results between two approaches (Burkhead vs TM) and which
approach the coaches went with. I agree when Chatelain says
[NU] could've ridden Rex Burkhead to Nebraska's first conference title
in 11 years.

Has struggled in pressure situations
Couldn't run his bread-and-butter play — the zone read
Had already made critical mental mistakes in the first three quarters
against Oklahoma
