[Husker] Bo Knows Stubborn

A pass is the typical call on 3rd and goal from the 8. No one should
question the coaching calling for a pass in that situation. (A coach
might be criticized on the particular pass play, but not that the play
called was a pass.)

Surely, Martinez has been coached (not only this year but in previous
from his years as a QB) that the _one_ thing he should not do is have a
turnover. Any other outcome is acceptable on 3rd and goal from the 8.
>From that viewpoint, it is execution not coaching.

However, there _is_ an element of coaching here. If players don't do
what they are coached over the long term, then something is wrong with
the coaching. Coaching also involves ensuring a high level of
execution. The previous regime always blamed execution, but when
things continue to go wrong, it isn't just the players at fault. I'm
not making this judgement about Watson or Cotton or any other coach one
way or the other. What I will say that ultimately Bo Pelini is
responsible and he is well qualified (especially with TO's input) to
make a judgement about how the program can improve on what I think was
a reasonably successful season even if the team fell a few points short
(principally on offense) in three games this season.

Sometimes, all you need is some patience and a few little changes.
Other times, you need to make bigger changes. Some of the "Dump
Watson" talk reminds me of the "Dump Solich" talk, but the offense
must improve and it is reasonable to ask if Watson is the answer.
Change holds risks and possibilities. Bo knows about football and
he'll be responsible for the outcomes. I'll be comfortable with
whatever he decides.
