[Husker] Good Article on leaving the Big 12 (UNCLASSIFIED)

Not to mention, but do Nebraska fans really believe that every single one of them is the kind who stands and politely applauds the losing team after each game? In a perfect world, sure, but for every respectable fan there are bums who act like Colorado fans! They just haven't been as noticeable in past years I guess.

Having been the recipient of death threats, I can say that they are not fun.
What is interesting is that he did not appear to report them, but couldn't
come to NU for a presentation of trophy. That really seems to be a
disconnect. On the one hand, he didn't see them as "threatening" enough to
report, but found the threatening enough to not fulfill one of the tasks of
the commissioner.
I would say there are bad fans that support every team. It would not have
surprised me that he got ugly messages, nor would it have surprised me that
some of them contained threats. I don't condone that, but people do that
kind of stuff. I find it hard to believe that he has never had ugly messages
and threats in the past, but I don't recall that being in all the papers
before.
Do I think this is a conspiracy? No. Do I think there are really hard
feelings? Yes.
I have been trying to recall other incidents where teams have left
conferences. I have family in Utah. BYU and Utah really orchestrated the
development of the MWC when they left the WAC. I don't recall this level of
venom, and they gutted the WAC. They have now left the MWC, and nobody is
throwing stones like this. VT, Miami, and Boston College gutted the Big East
when they left, but I don't recall the venom. CU is leaving, but I don't see
the articles pointed at them.
The final irony is that many of these articles seem to have the same
message, "We will be fine without NU so good riddance, we hope you trip on
the way out the door." Which at the same time says NU is not important, but
very important (they created enough of a press to pen the article).
I hope that BP isn't letting the team get too juiced on this stuff. We
seemed to overamp for the Texas game and really played poorly. Here is to
one last Big XII championship.
Go Big Red!
