It's called 'spin doctoring' and the Big XII has gotten pretty good at it.
(George Orwell had a less complimentary phrase for it.)  

I dunno that it will save the conference over the long haul, which IMHO
will last only as long as UT and OU are kept happy, especially UT.

I wonder if the 8 dwarves will have any influence on conference policies?
