Fellow Listers,
I am also one that tempers stats to a degree, but I feel that Skylar's are fairly good to go by. Of course, other factors (e.g. conditions, types of offenses, etc) come into play, but over the course of time, and the number of teams played, they usually even out.
One stat that I like to use is the number of plays over 10 yards that a defense gives up. At one point last year, I ran stats over a few years, and last years' team was much improved...especially as the year ran on. I'm curious if this years is any better. VT had multiple 10+ plays, and they were costly. Especially one on 3rd and long on their first drive, and, of course, the killer bomb at the end. If I get a chance, I'll try to do the same again this year.
