What *was* clear...live speed, slow speed, no matter....is when the defender *did not* have full control of the ball ...and he did not have it before they hit the ground.   And the receiver very clearly hit the ground first.  According to the rules, ball goes to the passing team.  Blown call.

This is how I saw it. At live speed, it seemed obvious that the ball was
simultaneously possessed, but when they slowed it down you really couldn't
pick out exactly when the defender gained full control of the ball. Since it
was called an interception on the field, I think the replay official's hands
were tied.
