[Husker] What does the VA Tech - Miami game mean to us?

Imo: it doesn't mean anything to anyone outside of chatrooms and watercoolers. Teams change so much the first few weeks of the season, which combined with VT's earlier loss (I don't think VT was going to expose too much more of their playbook on a team they under-estimated) and the weather; the VT vs Miami was better than the team we played. However, considering beating us by 1 point at home moved them up in the polls a couple spots, applying the same poll logic they should now be a top 5 team.

First, I have to admit that I didn't watch the VaTech/Miami game for
more than a few minutes. But I have to wonder what the driving
rainstorm might have done to both teams. It was a wet grass field.
Miami gets its boost from team speed, but a wet turf may have
nullified that. I'll be more than glad to hear from anyone who
actually watched the game to give their impressions. How the heck did
VaTech score so many points?

But I'd agree with Tommy. Again, there are things we learn with every
game played. A shoulda-won against VaTech looks pretty good (I even
heard some talking heads yesterday mention the fact that VaTech
shoulda come out of the Nebraska game with a loss). I did watch some
of the Nevada-Missouri game, and a Nevada fumble inside the Missouri
25 towards the end of the 3rd quarter just drained that team,
otherwise it was going to be another close game. You put those two
things together and it gives me pretty good feeling about the Mizzou
game. Nevada moved the ball against that Tiger defense; the Tiger
offense is no way near as potent and sudden as they were last year.
Our defense is much improved, and our offense is good enough to move
the ball on anyone. I personally can't wait. I think this next game
is going to be fun. Agonizing, painful, but fun.
