[Husker] Words of Wisdom ...

Good point. Also, analyzing, critiquing, criticizing, etc. is part of sport. When a team or player or coach does something well, they are praised. When something is poorly done, they are criticized. That's the way it is. I haven't seen anyone attacking O'Hanlon on a personal level, but when you are on a stage as big as major college football, there are times when you are going to take some heat if you screw up. And to keep saying over and over "well they are just kids" and "they feel terrible about it" is irrelevant. Of course they do. But it is part of the deal to be doubted and criticized when deserved. Zac Lee has looked far better against Sun Belt teams than a top twenty team...so far. There are doubts about him. O'Hanlon made a bad play that essentially cost a game that was virtually won, he gets noticed for that. Those saying so are not the bad guys.

Isn't writing about not bashing on an individual player the same as bashing on an individual player? It seems to be a great trick of the trade - pretending to stand up for something when you're really using it to generate more emotional feedback.
Especially this bit:
.........O'Hanlon missed a big assignment for all to see at the worst time Saturday in the Huskers' 16-15 loss to Virginia Tech.
With the Huskers in a cover-two zone as the Hokies faced second down-and-six from their 16-yard line in the final 90 seconds, O'Hanlon bit on a Tyrod Taylor pump fake toward the middle of the field. The safety's hesitation allowed Tech receiver Danny Coale to break free on a post route. Taylor hit him in stride.........
It's kind of like looking at my teenage son and saying "Gee, are you okay? That enormous zit on your nose looks like it hurts".
