On the bright side, against Virginia Tech, the Huskers have improved
from "could've won" last year to "should've won" this year.

On the down-side, this game makes it unlikely that NU will play in
the BCS Championship Game, which was a faint hope this year for the
first time in several years.  However, the two most important goals
for this team still are within reach: a Big 12 North championship
with a berth in the Big 12 Championship game and a quality bowl
victory.  If this team can win the North, be competitive in the
conference championship game, and win its bowl game, the Virginia
Tech loss will be just another game NU "should've won".
