[Husker] Spleen

This was one of those games that reminded me of some of the contests that we played with Oklahoma in the 70's.  The Husker's mustered a solid effort for 90% of the game.  They really took themselves out of putting the game away when we had first and goal...ready to go up by nine when the holding call and then the false start penalties, etc.  Then the collective Husker nation held their breath and just like a scramble out of the pocket desperation pass to Keith Jackson that OU used to do.... Taylor heaved the ball with all his guts...and my spleen was pulled outh through my nose.

This was not a moral victory...more appropriately an im-moral victory in the Flutie-esk hail Mary nature of the finish.

Next week....another win at home... then Mizzou...then the rest of a schdeule that may turn out very favorably for this team.  This would have been one of those games that we would have pointed to when referencing "the return" to prominence of the mighty Huskers....


I'll be watching.  Spleen or not...
