I sure hope you're gut feeling is correct...
The game you mention was the last time that the Big Red won a road game
against a Top 20 opponent.

I'll be at Lane Stadium. 50% chance of rain. Looking forward to the
excitement in Blacksburg. Has anyone ever been to Va Tech for a game?
What's the pre-game atmosphere like... plenty of tailgating parking lots?
Friendly folks? Or Colorado/Mizzou atmosphere?
Anyone else going?

My guess is that the key statistic will be Points off Turnovers.
Huskers --- 34
VaTech ---- 24

I don't know about anyone else, but this game kind of feels like the 1997
game on the road at Washington. Huskers ranked about #7 and Washington #2.
Huskers were kind of suspect after a couple of games against lower tier
opponents, giving up a lot of yards against Central Florida and winning
38-24 the week before. I remember that the team came of age under Scott
Frost that day, winning 27-14 (wasn't really even that close on the field,
just on the scoreboard). With a couple of exceptions that team was really
never challenged the remainder of the year (Missouri and Colorado were the
only close games after that, much too close for my comfort!). I get the
feeling that we're on the brink of something that will set this program up
to challenge nationally for several years to come. No more feeling good
just to be ranked in the top 25 but disappointed if we're not top 10 caliber
or better. Just my gut feeling.
