[Husker] Offense

I was at the game with some really good seats. I agree our offense
looked better. Marginally better. At times there were more holes for
the RBs to run through. But just as many times they were stuffed. I
think ISU actually out rushed us. At the half we had around 250 yards
of offense I believe. We should have had 14 to 21 points on the board
at that time.

It was just a weird, weird game all the way around. I'm not sure what
to take from it. I don't think we're at team that generally has
trouble hanging onto the ball. Maybe it was just a one-game thing.
If it is, then I'm somewhat encouraged by our offense. They did play
better other than the turnovers. BUT, the ISU defense isn't the
greatest either. And, I'm sitting here wondering how in the world we
score 10 points on Texas Tech and A&M scores 52! So I'm still plenty
worried about the offense. But, there's no need to panic or call for
different players or different coaches. (Different coaching, maybe,
but that's another subject). If just one of those inside the 5 yard
line fumbles doesn't happen and we go into score instead, we win the
game. We were within a whisker of beating a team where we gave them
the ball 8 times. We have a defense that is going to keep us in every
game. It's on the O and the Special Teams to just play to their
capability. That's all. Don't have to be heros. Just bring the lunch
pail and get it done. We've had missed assignments on the line, we've
had penalties, we've had dropped balls. Some of those areas actually
looked a bit better Saturday, only to be bitten by the turnover bug.

Just one more note: contrary to the folks who say Zac's passes were
on the money, I disagree. Even when the ball is a completion, he's
not putting it in the best of spots much of the time. Sure our
receivers are to blame for some dropped balls; but I saw a large
number of very inaccurate throws from him Saturday. I've been in his
corner so to speak up to this point, and I still don't think a QB
change is in order. But it seems like he's pressing or not playing
loose or something. The ball is just coming out of his hand
differently than in the beginning of the season IMHO. Maybe it's a
lack of confidence...being tentative or whatever. I just think he's
struggling with accuracy a bit right now overall. However, he still
takes care of the ball pretty well.
