Re: the discussion of Vs. for the Baylor game. It was stated that Vs. on
Dish is only available as part of the "Gold" package, that is not the case.
We subscribe to the "Silver" package and Vs. is included (SD and HD).
Presumably this is a relatively recent change, since it is not yet shown on
the web:

I'm looking at Vs. right now on my Dish TV. It definitely works, and I don't
have other channels that are on Gold but not Silver. I'm in Lincoln, but I
don't think that's a local/regional thing.

We just switched from Time Warner Cable about a month ago, and I love the
Dish system.
1) Cheaper than TWC service at a comparable level
Dish: Silver, HD, DVR, "local channels" ca. $70 after promotion ends
TWC: Digital Tier package, HD, DVR, Extra HD Tier (but less HD overall)
         ca. $100
2) Vastly better DVR & guide, programming search/browse, recording capacity
3) Promotional discount of additional $15/mon for a year

The only downside is that "local channels" includes Lincoln, Hastings, and
Grand Island, but not Omaha channels. So we also had a good antenna
installed in the attic at the same time, which gives us Omaha and
over-the-air versions, including the "extra" channels for 6, 7, 8, 10/11,
12, and 15. The Dish receiver integrates them right into the guide, which is
very cool.
