[Husker] Thought on the Mizzou game

As some at the game, I am still cold and I made it into work at 10. For three quarters all I thought was why am I here? Offense wasn't doing anything, defense was great (small screen replay images due to power outage so you couldn't really see much) and the pouring rain/cold. But that fourth quarter made it all worth. I was next to a very nice MU fan, and in front of some crazy rednecks that sounded like David Sedaris's brother The Rooster (if anyone has listened to his audio books).
But hearing the NU section singing goodbye to the MU fans as they streamed out (like they knew exactly how to leave a game early) was awesome, the players were so ecited coming of the field, and seeing Bo smiling so wide and raising his arms to the NU crowd as he left...it was more then worth the drive there and back in the rain, walking a mile to/from the car, and standing for four hours.
Let me tell you seeing those kids exit the field with that much excitement in them was more than worth the price of admission (two tickets for one person and a not-so-happy wife)
Awesome

Subject: [Husker] Thought on the Mizzou game
Before I write about my thoughts, I'd like to say a big thanks to those
Husker fans that braved the weather and cheered our beloved boys in
scarlet and cream to a victory last night. It was awesome to hear the
"Let's go D!" and "Go Big Red!" cheers during the game. To all of you
that were there in person, you are who part of what makes Nebraska
football special and all us known as the best fans in college football.
Again, thank you!
Now on to the game. It was good to see a win when the defense was keeping
the team in the game. Nebraska still needs a little more work on special
teams, but over all it was a great performance.
The players really rose from adversity and showed a lot of character
coming from behind for three quarters to dominate in the end and win it.
It did look like Nebraska finally wore Missouri out.
I have written about this before and will most likely do it again in the
future, so here goes.
When I swam for Nebraska, during my freshman year, one of the team
captains talked about a performance in which a new team member 'proved
themselves to be a Husker'. Well, true believers, last night our boys in
scarlet and cream became our men in scarlet in cream. And proved
themselves to be Huskers.
While they may lose games this season, this team believes in itself and
its coaches and will do well for the rest of year. Coach Pelini and his
staff have (IMHO) turned the corner. The ghosts of the past have been
exorcised.
I said it before and will repeat it now. Nebraska will win the North this
season. They may not win the Big-XII, this year, but they will win it
next season.
Bring on Texas Tech!
Go Big Red!
