I'm just going to echo what others have said here.

While I really hope (and at times believe) we can be competitive with
Texas enough to actually win the game, what you're talking about here
is respect. What have we done this year that deserves anyone's
respect? Does a one point loss at VaTech deserve respect? Does a
total blowout to TTech deserve respect? Does a one point loss to Iowa
State with 8 turnovers deserve respect? Does playing just enough good
offense to stay in front of other average teams deserve respect? Does
winning the Big XII North deserve respect? We don't deserve any
respect from anyone we're likely to play the rest of this season. We
have to make our own respect, make teams respect us. Nothing we've
done so far this year has done much to that end. Are we the Nebraska
of the 90's? Nope, not even close.

And others are correct about this being Texas. Arrogant, sure. But
they deserve respect from us because they have done all that they
could do to get where they are. They are undefeated and they have
walloped a few along the way. They've had some close ones, but there
was never a concern that the offense could score enough to win. Like
at aTm this last weekend, it was a question of whether aTm could keep
it going long enough to stay with Texas. Its the best offense and
defense we will see all year, bowl game likely included. You gotta
respect that.

With all that said, if Texas comes into the game thinking this is
going to be a roll over on the part of the Huskers, I would think
they'll be unpleasantly surprised. A lack of respect could work in
our favor, but we haven't done anything to deserve it yet. So don't
go complaining about a lack of respect. If we beat Texas, there will
be enough respect to go around.
