[Husker] What If

It was, "Programs that had not beaten a Top 20 team (AP, I believe)". It
was 'ranked at the time' which is a streak we broke this year.

Now, that being said, none of our wins look great as to where they're
currently ranked (unless we had beaten VaTech, currently #11 I believe).

This is going to be a bit sketchy, but bear with me. (and it won't be the
first semi-sketchy post this year).

Some time last year there was a news item in my local sports page, I don't
think it was reposted here but I could be wrong.

In the previous five years only two schools in the country hadn't beaten a
ranked team (and I don't remember if that was ranked when they played or
ranked at the end of the season). Go through the usual conference
bottom-dwellers (Vanderbilt, Washington State, etc.) and there was always at
least one quality victory the program had in the previous five years.

The two exceptions? You guessed one of them already, Nebraska.

the other one was Duke.

None of our current victories is against a ranked team that is currently
ranked. (OU was 23rd when we played them. They're just squeaking into bowl
eligibility status as of right now).

No respect? Maybe there's a reason...

Hopefully we can take care of all that Saturday night.

Yep, and who've been told by the media and the fans that they were going to
the title game since Day 1.
