Say what you will about Hawkins, but he had his team playing full-on  
until the final whistle, even with their season more than technically  
over and the game seemingly in hand.

I've never seen him be anything but a class act and really have been  
surprised (though not displeased) that he hasn't had more success at CU.

When CU secured Hawkins after we hired Callahan… I feared we were in  
for a long stretch of trouble where the "rivalry" was corncerned.   
More than once in that dark stretch, I've though he was the "get" we  
should have got.

Happier now with Pellini at the helm to be sure, but still worried  
after seeing Hawkin's team refuse to quit yesterday.
