[Husker] Ron Franklin and comments regarding Asante

I wasn't a believer until today's game, but I now agree with the posts
regarding Ron Franklin's comments during the game. He was terrible, and
the color guy was not too much better. I don't mind the announcers
pointing out good playing, but it was very one sided. Nebraska didn't
make good plays (Niles Paul's punt return and Suh's near tackle that lead
to the grounding call, to mention a few), Colorado made mistakes.

And the BS regarding Larry Asante (I know I'll probably get creamed for
this, but here goes anyway.) and the hits he's made. First of all, the
hit on the OU was just playing. At the time Asante 'thumped his chest' he
didn't know the player was injured. Secondly, if you rewatch the hit
against Reesing in the KU game, Asante ducked his head to avoid a helmet
to helmet hit. Fortunately, the refs saw reality and didn't throw a flag.
Finally, I thought the flag tonight was bogus. Asante was in the air when
the hit was made, and he pulled up his left shoulder to avoid a big hit
on the receiver (what it in slo-mo if you don't believe me, it shows it
in real-time too, but it is harder to see because it was so fast). Larry
Asante plays with a lot of passion, I for one like how he plays the game.

And what about the blatant personal foul with about 1:08 to go in the
game? Colorado jumped and one of the Nebraska was mauled after the
whistle blew, then was pushed to the ground. Who knows, a penalty there
may have stopped Colorado from getting that last touch down. That foul
was way worse than Asante's, yet it was not flagged (it should have been
a dead ball personal foul), and not mentioned by the announcers.

Oh well, at least Nebraska won. And in doing so, they have completed the
second of my bold predictions and have won 9 games again this season (of
course this prediction is an going one, but when Nebraska lost to ISU I
know that a lot of fans were thinking that Nebraska may not win another
game this season).

And now onto the Big-XII Championship. I think that Nebraska will make it
closer than people think, and could pull the upset. This team has a lot
of heart.

Great season Nebraska! Good luck next Saturday!

Go Big Red!
