Tony -

No, the Cotton Bowl is not a BCS bowl.  The bowl committee pursued the
BCS bowl status but according to Wikipedia they gave up when ESPN got
the most recent BCS contract.

But you are correct that the Cotton Bowl will move to the Jerry Dome
for the 2010 bowl game.

As impressive as the venue might be, its still Dallas/Arlington/Ft.
Worth.  Not a special place.  Not a whole lot to see in addition to
the game.  Not like the Riverwalk in San Antonio, or La Jolla or
Mission Bay or (name a place in San Diego) for the Holiday Bowl.  Even
the Gator Bowl isn't all that far from Orlando or Miami.

But, hey, its just my opinion.  If I'm going to spend a lot of money
travelling to a place, I would prefer to go someplace that has
something to offer besides the game.
