I'm not sure we can put much trust in any of this. I do think its been poorly handled though. No executive I know would conduct an investigation of personnel in public like this!

Jon...I'm not trying to be combative but this article is really thin.
1. A "source" says that Perkins called a team meeting using the "blast" system, which sounds like a distribution list. Perkins may have used the same system to get his message about the team meeting to the players. That shows the AD undermining the coach? That is really weak.
2. "It's believed by many" that Perkins leaked the meter maid story.Believed by who? Nothing in the article to support this.
3. "Perkins left Maryland after an NCAA investigation." "UConn had a party when he left." "Perkins is the reason why Nike will no longer do business with Kansas".What? No information or reason given for writing any of these. What do they mean? What do they have to do with anything? The entire athletic department, not just football, changed apparel provider from Nike to Adidas. Nike lost the contract, but that means "they will no longer do business with Kansas" because of that? That's quite a spin.
This article has all traits of yellow journalistic crap written by someone with an agenda. The ESPN articles named names and quoted named individuals and were seemed far more sound than this. This guy is selling something, I'm not buying it.
Dave

I dunno Jon. Did you read that article? It looks like there are right now approximately 15 ex-players, many of them current NFLers, coming forward with complaints of abuse, and it sure sounds like there are more to follow. 9 of them are named in this article and they are ok with that. These guys are not pussies. So that makes it a little hard to believe that this is one guy with an axe to grind. And I am still unclear what the AD has done to make him the bad guy. This is widespread, how was he supposed to handle it?>>Wait for the other side of the story? You're kidding, right? Mangino has already given the other side of the story. He says he has done nothing inappropriate, it is the fault of the way the kids were brought up the previous 18 years before they got to him, and this is people looking for 15 minutes of fame (link provided below.) The incident with the meter maid he says was a "conversation". His words. What other side of the story is coming?>>Dave>>________________________________From: jon johnston <jon.johnston at gmail.com>>To: Aaron Wolfson <awolfson0 at gmail.com>>Cc: David Strong <gbrlist at yahoo.com>; husker at tssi.com>Sent: Fri, November 20, 2009 9:08:28 AM>Subject: Re: [Husker] A few College Football Notes>>Wait for the other side of the story. >>And honestly, you're going to believe what Joc Crawford has to say?
