I think if you talked to any offensive player anywhere, they'd say that offensive players are the best players on the team. Given that nearly all of the Heisman Trophy winners are offensive players, do you really ever expect them to vote for a defensive player no matter what?
We focus too much on winning. Who cares if Suh wins it or not. Just getting him in the top five would be an incredible accomplishment.
He needs another stand out game, though. 2.5 tackles won't cut it, even if he is doubled and tripled most of the game.

If I am correct, and I do know I will be corrected by members on this list if I am not, it was meant to be awarded to the best all around college football in the nation. How far have we strayed from that concept? I live in Pinole Ca home of GinoTorretta who won the award playing QB for Miami. I have known Gino since he was a child and like him but I do not believe he deserved the trophy. Miami had a great season until they ran into Alabama in the Bowl game.Had that been a regular season game Gino's performance in that game would have knocked him out of contention. So much for my thoughts which with them and 2 bucks you probably can get a cup of coffee.
