I agree 100%. Cotton, as with all the other assistants, has a
responsibility that I think many folks on this list (and fans in
general) don't seem to grasp. He is very well paid to get these players
prepared for games and some of these penalties at key moments have been
pretty bad.

If there's a list of coaches that need to be berated, our offensive line
coach certainly leads it, IMHO.  We have had at least one major O-line
penalty in each of the last three games that killed a drive:

vs. KU: Tripping
vs. OU: Chop block
vs. Baylor: Holding

plus the multiple false start penalties in the 8th, 9th, and 10th games
of
the year.  I'm not saying that the coach deserves to be fired (only
because
I woke up in a good mood this morning), but at least he deserves a
copious
ass-chewing to let him know his players' performance is unacceptable.
