[Husker] Kansas State Preview

Some of the posts in this thread are laughably ridiculous. I suppose
some of these "fans" think we should go back to the Dumb and Dumber
regime. Who cares if we only win half of our games? At least the head
coach has his head buried in the clipboard and never gets angry (because
he accepts mediocrity).
It's rather apparent to me that this program needed a swift kick in the
ass to undo the damage caused by the Pedey and Callaclown circus. For
those who may have forgotten where this program was 2 years ago,
Callaclown turned practices into light workouts where full-pads were
rarely worn and most of the backups stood around watching the top units.
Many players were more concerned about a few fans booing the team than
the fact that they were on the brink of completing the worst season in
the past 45 years. The entire program had been brought down several
notches as the team wallowed in the cancerous notion of indifference,
mediocrity and incompetence.
Nebraska needed an intense coach who cared about winning and didn't
accept mediocrity. I think this happened once before in Nebraska's
history after another head coach named Bill drove the program into the
ground....I think that guy's name was Bob Devaney or something.
Could Pelini tone it down at times? Probably. Is it really having a
negative effect on the program? Very doubtful at this point. Despite
mindles speculation about how the assistant coaches feel they are beting
mistreated (from persons who have no connection to anyone involved), the
assistant coaches and players always seem like they would take a bullet
for Bo. I haven't seen such inspired play by the Cornhuskers in several
years. I like the attitude of this program, and if a few blue hairs are
uncofomrtable with it (probably the same folks that get upset when you
have the gall to stand up at a football game), then all the better!
