I think there are some listers that have such a dislike for Bo that
anything he does will be construed as negative. I'm sure he wasn't
happy about the penalty. I would hope he indicated that to the position
coaches and the offensive coordinator. I would hope he also let the
defensive coaches know what he thought when they made a "boneheaded"
play. For someone in the stands or on TV to read more into an exchange
witnessed from a distance is insane.
I have noticed that first and second year coaches often are called for
fouls when the same action by a more seasoned coach often gets
overlooked. I think its part of the rite of passage to come into a
position. The same attitude is often used in basketball when there is a
marque player that can get away with murder while a newcomer gets called
for every touch on the floor. Eddy Sutton, Norm Stewart and Billy Tubbs
could get away with some pretty outrageous behavior while newer coaches
in the league would get called on the same behavior. I think the same
thing goes for football coaches. Sure Bo is intense. But in the long
run it will serve the Huskers well.
