So, Bo Pelini wouldn't have been your choice? Have you any suggestions to
we fellow "non-doubters" a coaching model that would have been a better
choice?

Not necessarily written to be funny.

Well, that will bring out the holier-than-thou voices.

In my opinion:
Bo Pelini is certainly a really good coach and really good defensive
coordinator. His players love him and his results are there for all to see.
But I can't take anyone seriously who does not have doubts about Bo as a
head coach. Bo is immature, petulant, and throws temper tantrums like a 6
year old. He berates his assistant coaches with spit flying out of his
mouth. His sideline appearance looks more like the coaches in our local
peewee league, and much more importantly, his sideline behaviour and decorum
wouldn't be tolerated in that same league. It would be pretty silly to say
that Bo Pelini knows how to lose a game with dignity and class...just listen
to virtually any post-game presser after a loss. He does not conduct himself
in a manner that I would care for in the head coach at the University of
Nebraska. (key word being "I"...just my opinion.) But in keeping with the
"just win baby" philosophy, none of that will matter if he wins
a lot of football games. Since November 23, 2001, Nebraska has been, and
still is, a team that can't beat anyone any good. We have been worse, never
better, than that. And we have made zero progress towards being anything
different than that this year and Coach has made little progress in learning
how to be a head coach. (hey, no unsportsmanlike conduct penalties
yet...that counts for something!)
