Good points -- I don't necessarily disagree with those comments. I would
add the following:
1) I remember folks criticizing Tom Osborne for being too calm and not
showing any emotion on the sidelines. I also remember seeing him coach in
his younger years when he was very emotional. I even remember seeing him
yell at and chew out officials at times:-). He did seem to know when to
quit!
2) Bo gets criticism for being too emotional (deservedly so) at times.
It's pretty obvious to me he has some things to learn, but it is still early
in his career.
A long time ago when I was just starting out as a young coach, an older,
experienced coach told me I had to coach to my personality and not try to be
someone I wasn't! That was sound advice and did steer me in the right
direction!
If Bo keeps listening to TO, maybe it will happen to him yet. He's just got
to find the right line between being calm but still competitive and not
bordering on being out of control.
Just my 2 cents worth!
