A decent rating, but still completely off the mark. Looking at total
yards is not a good way to evaluate Nebraska's defensive performance
last night. Nu's offense did a terrible job and never gave much of a
break to Nebraska's defense. With OU emplying a hurry-up offense for
much of the game, the end result was Oklahoma running 87 plays on
offense. That was 30 more than Nebraska managed. When all was said and
done, the blackshirts only gave up 3.7 yards per play to Oklahoma.
That's a tenth of a point better than our season average and the top
team in the country is only giving up 3.4 yards per play...so it's hard
to really top that performance.
Nebraska's defense was much more than "decent" last night. They have
been all season long. A++ in my book, and there is no question in my
mind.
