I guess someone's got to stick up for Cox.

I've had both DirectTV and Cox and there are some pros and cons to each.

Cox Pros:
=========
- Cheaper for my particular package (See below). A good $40 cheaper than
the Qwest/DirectTV equivalent
- MUCH faster internet (if you're a nerd like me, this is very important),
mine is 20mbps. I ran bandwidth tests on my 20mbps cable vs a 50mbps DSL
business line at work (with nothing running on it) and they came out about
equal. I've had about 5 different experiences with DSL and none of them
were good.
- On-Demand for all movie channels. Since I have all the movie channels,
almost any show/movie that's aired on the movie channels I can watch any
time for FREE
- Support is MUCH better IMO. Cox has always been very responsive if I have
an issue and I've waited on hold with qwest for an hour+

Qwest Pros:
===========
- More HD (although, Cox has all the HD channels I want with ESPN, ESPN2,
FSMW, HBO, SHO, TBS, TNT, etc)
- 'Lesser packages' tend to be a little cheaper if you don't want everything
- MLB / NFL packages (A big plus, no doubt. Though with MLB.tv I get every
game anytime I want anyway, in 720HD quality)

My package with Cox (Total Connections package):

TV
==
5 tvs (2 dvrs and 2 dig boxes)
Every channel they have

Internet
========
The fastest internet they have (I believe) @ 20mbps

Phone
=====
2 numbers on 1 line (diff ring)
Every phone feature including unlimited long distance

Total Bill: $190 + taxes

I had Qwest quite a few years back, so last year I called them to price out
the same services with them and it priced at $230/month without hooking up
the 5th TV (it's in my basement laundry room and I wasn't that concerned
about it).
