Aloha
It WAS definitely an exhibition match, both teams were not in synch and
there is much in the way of improvement to be had.
That said, the play of Hannah Werth and Allison McNeal both freshmen shows
much promise for the future. Kayla Banworth is the dynamo on the team (and
if she could just improve her serving). On that note, serving was . . .
Well, kind of average. Fortunately, Hawaii's passing was worse. Shockingly
the relatively short team that Hawaii fielded outblocked the Huskers. This
seemed to be more a function of predictable setting than anything. All and
all an entertaining exhibition match. A small crowd by Hawaii standards
1,800 plus was the count, not very vocal and as Jeff mentions there were
more than a couple of red shirts in the crowd.

I had the privilege to watch our Lady Huskers take on the Hawaii Rainbow
Wahine tonight in the University of Hawaii Stan Sheriff center. There were
a few Husker fans sprinkled throughout the crowd of 1000+. The Huskers
played well through the first two sets and then fell apart during the third.
They regained the momentum and took the fourth winning overall 3-1. They
played a lot of the youngsters. I believe this group will be pretty good
this year as they continue to gel. When Licht gets back on the
court...watch out! Overall...nice to see the Huskers in Hawaii!
