[Husker] No Basketball Comment

I don't know about riots... but there would have been firings or resignations if a football player got the Sallie treatment.  If anything, it's virtually obliviousness.  On local sports talk radio, a lady called in and called for Doc Sadler to be fired, since even though she admitted she paid no attention to anything other than football, it was obvious to her he wasn't going to get it done.

I do believe that if Sadler turns this program around, Husker basketball fans will come crawling in out of the cupboards.  (Not to mention the Qwest Center, for that matter...)

The Cubs have a massive amount of fans, who'll wait until something great finally happens so they can say they were fans all along.

Nebraska basketball does not have such loyalty.

And if what happened in basketball to Robert Sallie happened in football to a prize recruit, there would be riots in the state. Happens in basketball, and we just bitch about the team not being worthy of our attention.
