[Husker] Baseball Recap: Week 3

Sorry to throw out an 'i-told-you-so' (not you specifically), but I said
before the year that I hope MA doesn't use Bird as a starter...Just had to
throw that in.

That being said, I like your rotation.  I might switched Roualdes and Mariot
because JR's a lefty and Mariot needs to show he can consistently throw some
Saturday stuff (and I think he can).

A small part of me wishes they'd give Hauptman a shot at a weekend start (he
was my vote for Saturday/Sunday before the season with Mariot).  I can see
why Anderson wants to use him in a stop-gap role like he used Jennings last
year.  If Bird has to be a starter, let him go midweek for a while. 

I have to second the Adam Bailey comment. Kinda reminds you of a Luke
Gorsett that's also a VERY solid reliver. I'm not sure where his power came
from either, last year he hit just 4 homers for his JUCO team (he has 6 so
far this year).  For the record, Gorsett was one of the top JUCO homerun
hitters coming in, so we expected it from him.

This year's youth are contributing more than any other season I can
remember.  

Look at last Friday's starters and where they were last year:

2B Kyle Bubak - JUCO
DH Jeff Tezak - Injured
RF Adam Bailey - JUCO
1B Tyler Farst - Part-time 1B last year
LF Nick Sullivan - Starter
3B Cody Asche - H.S. (MO)
SS Kline - Starter 
C  Burleson - H.S. (Tex)
CF Belfonte - Starter

SP Nesseth - Late season reliever

Only 3 out of the 10 players were on last year's Friday squad.  Sometimes
they start Cooper over Sullivan too, which would make just 2 starters back.

Friday - Nesseth
Saturday - Mariot
