If NU had just broken even between 1941 and 1961 they would have another 
24 or so wins, which would put them solidly in second place on the total 
wins list. Those two decades were a real aberration: from 1890 through 
1940 (51 seasons) NU had only three losing seasons, and, of course, only 
two in the 47 seasons since 1961; they had 17 losing seasons between 
1941 and 1961. But even with that, NU has had only 22 losing seasons 
(and several break-even seasons) in its 119 years of football. Not too 
shabby.
