With the 2004-2008 timeline, this becomes a "chicken and the egg" argument.  Did Nebraska produce so few BCS conference players because of decisions the prior regime made, or did the regime make those decisions because there were so few BCS conference caliber players available?

I think if you look over a longer term period, I'd suggest that there are more BCS conference type players available than we saw over the 04-08 period...but also that even so, Nebraska needs to recruit nationally because it's insufficient.
