[Husker] Coaching staff

I got the impression from the post in October that Eckler was the one out
the door. But he sure does bring a lot of enthusiasm to the table I like him
and he looks like a good coach to me.

And I'd like to add that I bet the original post in October about coaching
turnover probably appeared right after the loss to Texas Tech (Nebraska's
3rd loss in a row at the time) and was a typical knee jerk reaction because
the team was losing.

I personally can't imagine why any of the coaching staff would not be back
unless they were offered better jobs elsewhere.

Moreover, it appears that the coaches may be rewarded for a successful
start with salary increases and it sounds as if B. Pellini wants increases
for his assistants. Washington just hired away an assistant with a
salary that works out to about $700K/year, not so much different than
some head coaches at smaller schools. I think that staff continuity
(so long as you have the right people) contributes to success and hope
that B. Pellini and T. Osborne develop a structure that fosters continuity.
