I agree wholeheartedly. It was important to have DIS-continuity a
year ago but equally important to have CON-tinuity this year.
Everyone likes to be part of a successful emerging power, and I
imagine the coaching staff is no exception. The fact that every coach
has decided to stay tells us that they see sunnier days ahead.
Let's hope this impulse also applies to Suh. My guess is that if he
stays at NU, he'll become a first-round pick in 2010 at more than
double the salary he might pull down if he decides to turn pro now.
That seems to me good economics: If he begins his pro career this
year, it will be harder for him to get a large increase the following
year; if he begins his pro career next year at a much higher salary
level, it should not be dififcult for him to maintain or even
increase that level in subsequent years.
