[Husker] Gator Bowl

Sorry to reply to my own post, but they were also 3/16 on 3rd down, their 2
"NFL caliber backs" ran for a combined 43 yards on 19 carries. Their QB
had 2 INTs and completed just 45.9% of his passes. We sacked their QB 5
times.

It all just confirms what I said, I said I thought our offense was a LOT
better than theirs and their defense wasn't THAT much better. I still think
I'm 100% right. The only difference is we made some bonehead plays that
kept them in the game.

While you were right about the final score, I still think I was right about
my prediction (all but the score). You can call them rose colored glasses
if you want, but everything I said came true, except the final score.

We gave them EVERYTHING they got, our offense was CLEARLY better than theirs
and their defense wasn't that much better than ours.

Here's what I said, "Do I think ACC defenses are generally better than Big
XII? Yes, but a LOT closer than you think and certainly not enough to
overcome the huge gap in offenses between the conferences." Wouldn't you
still agree, at least referring to these two teams like I was? The ACC is
now 2-5 in bowl games, the Big XII 3-1.

Their offense scored ZERO points today when they didn't get a gift from our
offense (or special teams). I'll say it again, Z E R O. They scored 1 on
defense, and once from the our 13 and the other from their 44. All three
after turnoves. WE GAVE IT TO THEM. If we play a clean game, we win by 30.
Heck, I think if NP hadn't fumbled that punt, we'd have won by 21 because of
the crazy momentum we had (which somehow became a ROUT by them, thanks
Fouts).

We outyarded them by 175%. 362 - 208. Rose colored glasses my _____. We
spanked them hard, but did everything we could to let them hang around. If
you ask me, we played pretty bad today, but against a lesser team.

Side note: Watson's playcalling sucked today. We only really threw on 3rd
down when they knew it was coming AND WE STILL GOT IT. Had we thrown on 1st
and 2nd down occasionally, we would have been in a lot better down/distance
situations AND it would have opened up the run a lot more.

The game is going as I have expected. Clemson's defense is better than
our red colored glasses wanted to believe.

But take heart Husker Nation, the Pelini brothers will make the necessary
adjustments and the offense will get on track. This may be Castille's big
game.

The Huskers will prevail. The score will be close, 3 or 7 points.

Go Big Red!
