[Husker] Witt saga

Suppose that Witt and Lee ended up co-#1 at the end of spring (likely according to Watson's comments), but Witt chose to transfer because he didn't have sole #1.  I think Bo didn't want to "waste" a significant portion of the reps during the spring.  If Witt wouldn't commit to staying if he didn't get the outright #1 spot, Bo wanted the eventual #2 player to get more practice (than that player would have had he been #3 but moved up due to Witt leaving).

My understanding (albeit less than perfect) was that Witt wanted a definite answer by the end of Spring or he might/would transfer.  Bo wasn't ready to have terms dictated to him and told Witt (or Witt's Dad) that he wouldn't have a release if he waited until the end of spring to transfer.  I haven't heard the same restraints put on other positions, so I'm guessing that Bo made it painfully clear that no one was going to set requirements other than the head coach.

Am I clear here?

Why would that be?
