Well, it did until someone else assumed that position.  :-)

Northwestern's defense improved dramatically in 2008 under former
Wisconsin DC Mike Hankewitz, ranking as the 5th most improved defense in
the country in 2008.  The Badgers lost ground defensively in 2008.
