[Husker] Big Ten?

If the Ten/Eleven is only looking to expand to 12, then probably not. They'll probably want to expand their media footprint, and a Rutgers/Pitt/Syracuse gets them access to more than just Omaha.

But yesterday some suggested that they might be thinking 14 or 16 teams, in which case I think Nebraska would almost certainly be a target. If the Big 10/11 wants to go to 16 teams, they wouldn't want to water down their product THAT much. They could add a couple of eastern schools to increase their visibility in the northeast, then turn around and pursue Nebraska, Missouri, and Kansas on the west.

Subject: [Husker] Big Ten?

Former Husker John Decker opines that NU should make a push to join the Big Ten as that conference looks to add a twelfth member. A "Big Ten West" would presumably have Iowa and Minnesota (old, long-time NU rivals), along with Illinois, Wisconsin and Northwestern. Personally, I'd like to see it, but I don't think there's any chance the Big Ten would want NU: not enough TV viewers. Notre Dame will be their first choice (they have reportedly turned down previous overtures), and then maybe Mizzou.
