[Husker] Two recruits de-commit from Nebraska

I never had the impression that the coaches were "trying" to get Paulus,
but they did talk to him. I'm sure they would look at other QB's that
came around too, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are "trying" to
recruit them.

I am not overly concerned with Gabbert decommitting. I never felt he
was the "lock" that some thought he was. I also think there is talent
in the QBs. I really look for the offense to jell next year. As I
wrote earlier, the lack of offensive output during the last half of the
season was as much by design of the coaching staff as anything. Too
many of the "fans" seem to think they have an inside track on who should
be fired, how "bad" the talent is, and how to "fix" everything. That
mentality, when it carrys to the extreme, gets situations like occurred
during the Pederson years (and now the debacle at KU). I will take the
long term fixes that Bo and Dr Tom will implement.

All the the names you mentioned, Lee too, were on the roster and healthy when this same coaching staff tried to get a qb to come to Nebraska for 2009 who hadn't played since high school and could only play for a year. Think they didn't see a problem? They did, they just weren't able to fix it. Do you really not think we will have this same problem at quarterback next year? Maybe not, I suppose. Maybe Lee or Green will get a lot better by next year. Maybe Spano will play for the first time and be good right out of the gate. Maybe the defense will be great again and plus the easy schedule will mask our problems at that position. I have faith in the coaching staff too and there is no way they are going to go into next year thinking we all good at qb with the guys we have. That doesn't mean they are going to be able to find anyone for
