One of the things that has changed over the years and which
most people don't talk about are chemicals such as steroids
and creatine. I don't know the history of these substances
at NU or other schools and don't really want to know, but I
do think they have been a non-negligible component of strength
gains for some players in the past.
Again, I'm not saying that this was a factor at NU and am
not saying that the original poster implied that it was.
