Not to nit pick, but it was Ann Richards, who was the governor of Texas at the time the Big 12 was formed. Kay Bailey Hutchison is currently one of Texas's U.S. senators.

It's tough being a Husker fan living in Texas. Feel my pain.

> One thought that my psych education taught me is that if there is perception that Nebraska got screwed at the end of the game, or otherwise should have won for some other reason, the average Heisman voter who did not turn in their vote until Sunday or today may vote Mr. Suh as a "make up call". This should be very interesting. In any event, I am going to relish having his name put up on the North end zone façade next year.........it has been awhile since someone has had his name put up there.

> At an event many years ago, I heard Bill Byrne explain some of the history of the formation of the then "new" conference. Baylor would not be in except for Ann Hutchison, then the Governor of Texas. Arkansas was in, but Frank Broyles changed his mind at the last minute. Brigham Young University was recruited, but not heavily once Arkansas was out, because they did not want 13 and could not find a replacement for Arkansas as #14. Bill told us that the conference has the trademark rights to Big XII, Big XIII, and Big XIV....I have no idea if he was blowing smoke or not.
