It might not have much meaning, but I believe the value of the few extra
weeks of practice and honing of skills will mean a lot to the
underclassmen for next year.

I guess I have to take the flip side on this.  I think the Holiday Bowl
is borderline irrelevant (though it is probably somewhere in the middle
of these two positions.)  **Bowl games are exhibition games played for
profit.** A lot of folks miss this concept.  Compared to last Saturday
nights game, it isn't worth much.  I don't think how we play in the
Holiday Bowl against Arizona has anything to do with next year.  (next
year our offensive tackles will be a year older and we'll still have the
same quartebacks).  We'll play our best, probably do very well, and
maybe win... or not.  It would be nice to win, but play well or not, I
don't think it affects the performance of next years team much.
