Yeah, THAT'S the game. As soon as our Team took the lead last night and the ensuing kickoff went out of bounds, it was deva vu all over again... I thought, NO..., we're going to lose, but didn't remember which important game it was that brought back the memory.
To tell you the truth, I haven't been this disappointed in a Husker loss in years. It was heartbreaking, especially seeing the clock wind down to nothing. If only we had the q/b scrambling for another second before throwing it away, if only texas had started on the 20 instead of 40. If only the Huskers could make a touchdown starting at first and goal.
Then I started thinking that I haven't been totally vested in the Team for awhile after years of losing under the previous coach. The losses, to me, were almost expected. This year is the start of a huge turnaround for the Team and it was exciting to see the Blackshirts coming to life and making games winable. The offense still needs a ways to go.
Yeah, my mind still wishes for a mulligan on that last kick-off, but the reality is that it's not to be, no officials will posthumously award the game to Nebraska, and the other poster who said "all game the clock ran after a play was over until the last" is correct. The answer was that the clock has to run until the ball hits something. Must have been too much money on the line for texas to lose. How about a conspiracy theory, a national championship game against bama and horns is a bigger moneymaker than bama and cincinnati?
Oh well, time to start feeling sorry for whoever the Huskers will pound in the bowl game.
