Got this off a message board:
It's hard to compare the first-years of Husker Quarterbacks.
The differences in their situations are huge.
Some had...
1) A brand-new offense to learn. (Joe Dailey).
2) Arrived rather recently. (Tommie Frazier, Sam Keller, Zac Taylor).
3) Been in the system for years. (Joe Ganz, Jammal Lord)
4) Near-NFL receivers. (Sam Keller & Joe Ganz: Terrence Nunn, Mo Purify,
Marlon Lucky, Nathan Swift, Todd Peterson).
6) Future NFL O-linemen in front of them.
Those are huge differences!
It is very unfair to disregard all that.
But....
Let's do it anyway.
For the limited value it's worth... Below are 1st-year passing stats for

The Bottom Line:
We love all those guys and the good years they gave us.
Still... when it came to throwing the ball, there were differences. The
above numbers might reflect a small part of that.
There you go.
Just some things to think about....
