Dave - I see you want somebody's head on a platter - but there is another
possibility. Pelini MIGHT have told everyone he needs to tell at Glenn's
request...... NCAA,.. - he must talk to.- I would guess even if Glenn says
no. But if Glenn requests.he can explain to the. Redskins. But.you me
and public -he can not explain at all.if Glenn does not release There are
laws regarding what can and can't be said if allowed, unless they are called
in court, and even then it could be sealed ( I am sure Barry Bonds would
talk about sealed hearings) My point is - let's not get overly crazy here -
I suspect they have done everything like they should - I hope they have -
but why push this? We are the only ones I have seen talking about this. I
can't believe the NCAA just 'missed' something.. .

Scott...I see what you mean, but unfortunately, any protection BP may have
been trying to give Glenn is now completely out of the picture. BP has a
big problem right now, and it is not going to go away. He should tell
every detail to everybody, public, press, NCAA...everybody.
Recap...
Cody says he got caught selling tickets and that Coach suspened him for
it. Selling tickets is a major NCAA infraction. We know Glenn was suspended
by Coach for something. If it was for selling tickets, and Coach reported
it and suspended Glenn, we are OK. But that is really unlikely because
if he reported it, our compliance officers would know without question, but
they do not. If Glenn was suspended for selling tickets, and BP did not
report it, he is now in deep, deep poop. He didn't self-report, he concealed
a major infraction, and he hid it from his own compliance officers. NOTE:
this is all speculation, I am making no accusations. On top of all this,
Jim Zorn, the head coach of the Washington Redskins, says he thoroughly
investigated this before drafting Glenn. With who? Had to be BP and staff or
the NCAA. No other options.
So our best cases are BP suspended AND reported an infraction (unlikely
for reason stated above) or Glenn was suspended for something other than an
infraction. But protection Glenn is now out, he made the statement to the
press. BP needs to start talking now.

I know that speculation is half the fun of the Internet, but I think we
are making some big assumptions.
What we know is the Cody Glenn said he sold some tickets and he attributes
this to his being suspended. BP has said "No Comment." and the athletic
department is saying selling tickets wasn't an issue they knew about and are
trying to talk to Cody Glenn.
There are many things that can be going on here. Including BP not wanting
to air a kid's dirty laundry in the press. What he says to the press is not
necessarily what he shares with the NCAA? That Cody was suspended when
this apparently came to light will go a long way with the NCAA. They tend to
reward quick suspensions when things come to a coach or AD's attention.
It doesn't make sense to me for BP to suspend a kid publically and then
try to sweep it under the rug. It does make sense for him to take action
against an infraction and then refuse to discuss the details in the press.

No Laura, I really don't think "no comment" is going to do it. Cody Glenn
said specifically that he sold tickets and that Coach Pellini did what he
had to do. This clearly says BP suspended him for it. Now if you are
saying that BP should stick with "no comment" because of an ongoing or
potential investigation, that is a page right out of the playbook of every guilty
party. Sooner or later, he is going to have to explain. I guess you are
saying that later is better? I would have to disagree. Right now, today, go
to the NCAA and tell every single detail and go public with every single
detail. Don't leave anything, not one iota, untold. It will all come out
anyway, regardless of Coach's cooperation or not, and not cooperating is the
very, very, very opposite of good.

If that is the case the Athletic Department and the NCAA will need to
investigate it not the media, so "No Comment" is the proper response.

If it turns out that he did scalp tickets, and Coach knew about it and
didn't report it, we're gonna get dinged for it. In no way is BP going to be
able to stick with his "no comment". With this kind of accusation out
there, he is going to have to explain himself and his reasons for the
suspension. Stonewalling looks really bad and always, always makes it worse.

The Athletic Dept claims no knowledge of Cody Glenn scalping tickets.
